Party My Prediction* Results (as of 12:25am)
Conservative 123 144 (uh oh)
Liberal 93 76 (hee hee)
Bloc Quebecois 43 48 (ooh la la)
NDP 39 38 (whatever)
Independent 2 2 (I’m usnure how to react)
Green Party 4 0 (tears)
Verdict: I really underestimated the inability of Canadians to comprehend the benefits of a carbon tax. Maybe if there were a leader that could explain it in English…. I made my predictions before the Bloq surge. NDP…I got that right. Green…I said that was wishful thinking.
Way to go Canada, your knack for making stupid political choices is stronger than ever! And Guelph…electing a Liberal? That was the only outcome that ensured that we made absolutely no mark on this government.
Silver Lining: The yeeee-haw cowboy conservatives have a bunch of new Ontario members to remind them that there is a whole big country east of stupid redneck Alberta…with (gasp) minorities in it. I wonder how many Albertans showed up at the polls and were shocked to learn that John McCain was not on their ballot (or W for that matter).
Just like every election night since I’ve had the right to vote…I go to bed disappointed. But this time I was hoping for very little, so it’s odd that I’m still disappointed. At least the sleazy Liberals are licking their wounds and have some house cleaning to do.
